China Telecom Releases Qiming Network Grand Model: Creating a New Era of AI Application in Information and Communication Field

Xia Bing, deputy general manager of China Telecom, said that big modeling technology has become theartificial intelligence (AI)An important trend in the field, domestic big models are showing diversified development. China Telecom will focus on promoting the in-depth evolution of generalized big models to vertical industry big models, providing technical support for application development and open source ecosystems in different industries.

According to the introduction, China Telecom, based on the demands of rich business scenarios and the advantages of a large amount of network data and knowledge, has created a large model of the network and put forward the vision of "understanding the network, understanding the operation, and the positioning of the three forces". The connotation of this big model is defined as "one, five, four":

•  "One" emphasizes focusing on the field of information and communication, empowering internal production and providing services to external society.
•  The "five" covers five categories of scenarios: network planning, construction, maintenance, optimization and operation.
•  "Four" covers the four features of algorithms, knowledge/data, arithmetic, and services, and covers the whole process of web-based big models, including corpus preparation, pre-training, full parametric fine-tuning, feedback optimization, and inference deployment.

China Telecom has already widely applied the completely self-developed network grand model within the enterprise. In the future, China Telecom will actively cooperate in key areas such as basic research, arithmetic environment, application deployment, etc., and provide various forms ofMaaS(Model-as-a-Service) services, opening up the field of information and communicationAIA brand new era of application.
