Apple announces increased investment in generative AI, plans to expand UK team

According to the BBC, the British Broadcasting Corporationpomegranate's chief executive Tim Cook said in an interview that the company plans to hire more employees in the U.K. to work on theartificial intelligence (AI)(AI) work and increased investment in AI.

Cook reiterated that Apple is actively working on generatingAI technology, and highlighted some of the features that AI technology already supports on Apple devices, such as fall detection, collision detection, and predictive autocorrect text for iOS 17. He said that Apple will continue to invest in AI to drive the advancement and adoption of the technology.

According to a report by external tech outlet The InformationApple Inc.Apple has recently increased its investment in artificial intelligence. They have created a team called "Foundational Models", and although the team is only 16 people, Apple is already spending more than millions of dollars a day on AI research.

It was previously reported that Apple has developed a framework called "Ajax" for its AI program and is developing its own in-house chatbot, which some engineers have dubbed "Apple GPT".
