Microsoft CEO Nadella has announced the full open-sourcing of Phi-2, a homegrown small-size model that achieves significant performance improvements in common sense reasoning, language understanding, and logical reasoning.With only 2.7 billion parameters, the Phi-2 model outperforms models such as the Llama2 7B, Llama2 13B, and Mistral 7B on most common sense reasoning, language understanding, math, and coding tasks. The small size of Phi-2 also allows it to run on mobile devices such as laptops and cell phones.
