Bill Gates: 18 to 24 months until AI is widely available to the American public

Bill Gates posted his annual outlook blog talking about, "If I were to make a prediction, in a high-income country like the US, I would guess that we are 18-24 months away from a significant use of AI by the general population. And in African countries, I would expect AI usage to reach a comparable level in about 3 years. That's a much shorter lag time than we've seen in other innovations."
