Apple iPhone 16: May Support High Refresh Rate & Virtual Solid State Buttons in Leapfrog Change

iPhone The 15 series has just been released, however, aboutpomegranatethe next generationiPhoneThe speculations and leaks have started to intensify gradually. According to the latest news from digital domain blogger @DigitalGossipStation, the iPhone 16 series will introduce a number of exciting changes. One of them is the virtual solid-state button, while the Pro series will receive an eye-catching upgrade that includes a 48 MP Stacked ultra-large bottom primary camera and a 5x multi-prism telephoto, while maintaining its unique aura island and exterior design. Moreover, a user asked the blogger in the comments section if the iPhone 16 Pro's screen size is 6.3 inches, and the blogger answered the question in the affirmative. In addition, he also revealed that the standard model will feature a high refresh rate, although it is not yet known whether the exact refresh rate will be 90Hz or 120Hz.

After Android competitors adopted the high 120Hz refresh rate screens early on, Apple only started offering this feature with the iPhone 13 Pro series. However, the standard iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models for three consecutive generations are still stuck with 60Hz screen refresh rates. If the iPhone 16 standard edition is able to have a high refresh rate screen, it will be considered a major upgrade.

The virtual solid-state button design is also highly anticipated. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted this design for the iPhone 15 Pro series back in October last year. He noted that two additional Taptic Engines inside the iPhone would provide haptic feedback to mimic the feel of pressing a physical button without the need for physical movement.

However, speculations about virtual solid-state buttons were debunked at one point. According to some earlier media reports, Ming-Chi Kuo himself said in April this year that the high-end iPhone 15 Pro series would do away with the much-anticipated virtual solid-state button design and return to the traditional physical button design because of insurmountable technical issues.

This series of events shows that Apple has been doing a lot of research and preparation in the area of virtual solid state buttons. It would be a logical step if the iPhone 16 series finally adopts this design. This series of changes opens up even more exciting possibilities for future iPhones.
