Microsoft corporationThe company recently announced a new partnership with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Unions (AFL-CIO) to explore ways to leverage theartificial intelligence (AI)(AI) Technology brings more positive impacts to workers.

The AFL-CIO is the largest union organization in the United States, comprised of 60 unions representing 12.5 million workers. This collaboration aims to create an open dialog to incorporate workers' demands into the development and implementation of AI tools to meet their needs.

The objectives of the cooperation include:

  • Share in-depth information about AI technology trends with labor leaders and workers.
  • Incorporate workers' perspectives and expertise into the development of AI technologies.
  • Help develop public policies that support the skills and needs of frontline workers.

Microsoft corporationLearning sessions on AI technology will be offered starting in the winter of 2024, and labor leaders and workers will be able to share experiences, concerns and feedback directly with Microsoft developers, with a focus on unions and workers in "key specific industries."

The collaboration is expected to bring the development and application of AI technology closer to the actual needs of workers, as well as to help improve their skills and knowledge and provide them with better career development opportunities.
