Outside of OpenAI, Microsoft may start a technology partnership with Databricks Inc.

According to a report by foreign media outlet The InformationMicrosoft corporationplans to launch a partnership with Databricks, Inc. as theOpenAIalternative to theartificial intelligence (AI)Solution Selection.

Microsoft corporationintends to apply Databricks to its Azure cloud services in theAI technologyThe service allows users to build their ownAImodels or use the preset AI models provided by the platform. The move shows Microsoft's desire to expand its business in the AI space by providing customers with a more diverse selection of AI solutions.

Databricks, Inc. focuses on providing a range of AI platform services, including Delta Lake, a data lake, MLflow, a machine learning framework, and Spark, an analytics engine. Previously, Databricks also acquired AI platform MosaicML for $1.3 billion, combining the capabilities of the Databricks Lakehouse platform to shorten the training time of AI models with billions of parameters from days to hours and reduce costs from millions of dollars to tens of thousands of dollars.

Microsoft's partnership with Databricks has had an impact onOpenAIOpenAI is currently facing significant operational pressures, with only theChatGPTIt costs $700,000 a day. If OpenAI is unable to significantly increase its revenue, it may soon face a financial crisis. Thus, Microsoft's move could put pressure on OpenAI.
