Meta releases CodeLlama, open-sourcing the most powerful code tool ever to compete with GitHubCopilot

Metarecently announced the release of CodeLlama, a powerful aid for writing computer codeAI model, and has been released as open source. The model is intended to be used in conjunction withMicrosoft corporationCodeLlama competes with GitHubCopilot, a code writing tool that generates code based on text prompts and supports code completion and debugging features.

CodeLlama is built on Meta's Llama2 language model, which has been tested and found to outperform other current publicly available LLM-based models in code generation. In order to promote the development of research and commercial applications, Meta has decided to open source CodeLlama under a community license, which allows users to use the model free of charge for research and commercial purposes.
