AMD Launches New AI Chip, Announces MI300X Accelerator Begins Shipping

Ultraviolet Semiconductor Corporation (AMD) at last Friday's Advancing AI" event unveiled its latestartificial intelligence (AI)chips - the Instinct MI300 series. The series includes new products such as the MI300A and MI300X, as well as the software and services that go with them. According to AMD, the MI300A is already in mass production, while the MI300X has begun shipping.

AMD's Instinct MI300X is an AI GPU gas pedal based on the new AMD CDNA 3 architecture with a whopping 153 billion transistors. These transistors are made up of small chips produced in 5nm and 6nm processes, integrated through 3D packaging technology and equipped with 192GB of HBM3 memory capacity.

The chip's powerful performance and memory capacity make it an efficient processing unit for AI applications. Its presence will further advance the development of AI technology and provide more powerful computing capabilities for all types of applications.
