It is understood that the Maps app for iOS 17 will first guide EV owners to set their preferred charging network, with options including Electrify America, Chargepoint, Tesla Supercharger Network, and more. Once a charging network is selected, the Maps app will provide users with real-time availability information for charging stations, including the total number of available spaces at a given station and the number of occupied spaces.
Three years ago at WWDC 2020, Apple announced that it would offer an "EV Routing System" for electric vehicles.
