Meizu's full transformation: stopping new smartphone projects and going all-in on AI

This transformation is based on Meizu's in-depth layout and strategic consideration of AI technology. Meizu plans to reconstruct its Flyme OS to take the new AI terminal device as the core, and cooperate closely with the global big model team to build a new AI ecosystem.

Shen Ziyu, chairman and CEO of Meizu, said that Meizu will continue to iterate its existing product line in the next few years and is committed to building a complete AI ecosystem. He revealed that Meizu plans to launch an AI product for all-weather scenarios in the next three years to realize the vision of ALL in AI.

Meizu emphasized that during the transition period, existing projects such as Flyme and Boundless Intelligence will continue to be pushed forward and ensure that the hardware and software maintenance and offline retailing of its products will not be affected. The company believes that the current cell phone industry is facing multiple challenges such as the lengthening of the market replacement cycle, limited space for consumer innovation and intensified competition in the industry. Simply relying on hardware upgrades and parameter competition can no longer meet the diversified needs of users, so Meizu has decided to seek a new direction of sustainable development.

This strategic adjustment marks Meizu's full-scale foray into AI and demonstrates the company's deep insight into future trends. Meizu will actively embrace AI technology through cooperation with a global team of big models, with a view to standing out in the fiercely competitive market.
