Scientists at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) have recently made a major breakthrough by successfully developing a portableartificial intelligence (AI)(AI) The "mind-reading" headset, called BrainGPT, is capable of translating a person's thoughts into text with an accuracy rate of about 40%.
In previous studies, scientists have needed to use brain MRI machines or implanted electrodes to decode the human mind. BrainGPT, on the other hand, is unique in that it uses a graphene-based, non-invasive sensor, combined with the artificial intelligence model DeWave, which is able to encode discrete brainwave signals into text.
The emergence of this technology opens up entirely new possibilities for human-machine interaction, and BrainGPT is expected to play an important role in areas such as healthcare, communications and virtual reality. For example, for those who are unable to express their thoughts through language, such as stroke patients or aphasia patients, BrainGPT can be an important tool for them to communicate with the outside world.
However, this technology still has a lot of room for improvement. Currently, BrainGPT has an accuracy rate of about 401 TP3T, but scientists hope to boost it to 901 TP3T in the future to rival traditional translation or speech recognition software.
Nevertheless, the development of BrainGPT is still an exciting development. As technology continues to advance, we have reason to believe that more portable "mind-reading" devices will emerge in the future, bringing us a more convenient and efficient human-computer interaction experience.
